Listen to “Shakem on Down ,” “Hambone" & "Poor Brown Sugar ” from the Black Diamond Heavies latest demo “You Damn Right” whenever You feel the need to blow out your speakers and feed your down & dirty blues rock cravings.
“You Damn Right” flashes a raw and rowdy side of these blues artists, revealing a swatch of their rocking barrel house live performances, while the earlier CD titled “Black Diamond Heavies” gives You a more polished sound with slicker studio control & solidifies their standing as traditional bluesmen.
Mark Holder’s solo recording “My Black Name “features Mark’s resonator slide guitar style along with real east Tennessee vocals in a true American form. Here in “The Listening Room” we only present music which is available online as complete songs.
But it would be a crying shame not to highly recommend their earlier releases which You can hear “Snippets” of on their CD Baby.com pages, even though You only get to hear 1/2 to 1/3rd of each song. If You’ve never heard these recordings You should go to Mark Holder's solo "My Black Name" CD Baby page and to the earlier Black Diamond Heavies CD page for a sampling. Of course the real solution is to buy these CD’s, book them for a show and go to see them live whenever You get the chance.
